“At 75 years old, I’ve learned a lot of things, from a lot of good people that later turns out to be dead wrong. So when someone tells me with absolute certainly what the effects of our carbon wastes will be I am turned off. Casey says carbon, working alone in the atmosphere, might well warm the planet a fraction of a degree over the next decade but as always, there are many other factors working in other and often opposite directions. The cycles of the sun could have the effect of cooling (or warming) the earth sooner and to a far greater degree than anything man is likely to do. In doing so you can come to your own conclusions based on a broader range of information.
